How to peel an egg in less than 5 seconds with a glass jar

Are you ready for a crazy tip, that will make you scratch your head and make you think… hmmmm I have been peeling eggs wrong my whole life. This kitchen tip is so simple, but will save you a ton of time. You can watch a video on how to peel an egg in less than 5 seconds with a jar here.

All you need is a hard boiled egg, a glass jar or cup, some water and your muscles. Boil your eggs, once they are done drain the hot water off and fill the pot with cold ice water to try and cool the eggs down asap. Let them sit a few minutes. Grab an egg, put it in a glass jar with about an inch of water in the bottom. Cover the top of the jar with your hand or a lid. Now give the jar a shake, and swirl it at the same time. The shell should break away from the egg and come off in a large piece. Leaving a whole shelled egg behind. Like I said before…. Amazing right!

Make sure you add the water to the jar or the egg will break in half with the shell still on. I am not sure why but sometimes even with the water the egg will not let the shell come free all the way. I am not sure if it has to do with the freshness of the eggs, or how long they have been cooked? Or maybe I am having a bad day and shake the poor little eggs to hard? The egg might be a mess and broken, but by golly shaking them like that is good therapy lol. Either way this trick tends to work about 80% off the time, but it is not 100% efficient.
