Don’t Eat Steve! Printable Minecraft Party Game

Are your kids as obsessed with Minecraft as mine?  Seriously they love this game!  I do not understand the appeal, but I am not a gamer at all,so I don’t really get most games.  If you haven’t heard about it, chances are there is a child in your life that could give you a run down of the game.  Basically it is a building and survival game where everything is in cubes.  You are the character named Steve and he has to create and survive in his own little world.  There are a couple of options for playing; you can play creative mode (which is where my kids seem to stay for the most part) where it is peaceful and you basically just build.  Or you can go to survival (a little more advanced) where you have to build while avoiding creepers, animals and various “bad guys” while building your world and gathering food, mining, and surviving.

My youngest is turning 6 and wants a Minecraft birthday party.  It isn’t going to be a huge deal, and just a few friends.  I don’t generally go all out for my kids’ parties, but I do like to make them fun and have a couple things centered around their chosen theme.

Have you ever played the game “Don’t eat Pete”?  If not, the object of the game is simple. You put some small candies on each square of a board (similar to tic tac toe) and then have one child turn around.  Have the other children pick a square that will be Pete (or in this case Steve).  When the other child turns back around, he starts to eat the candy off of the squares.  When he gets to the square designated as “Pete”, everyone yells “DON’T EAT PETE!” We played it at his party last year and everyone loved it.  That is all they wanted to do the whole time!  It was so fun!
