Spring Flower Project

Thanks for everyone who has been joining us for our Mommy and Me Paint Nights, Live on Facebook!  We have really enjoyed teaching you and your kids how to paint and helping you learn as we go.  We hope you will grab your friends, grab your kids and plan to join us again next Friday for another live Paint Night!  Next class will be 4/15 live on our facebook page.

What you will need for this weeks painting 4/15 :

Paint Brushes  this week you will only need three brushes for this project, a  large wide flat brush to do your background, and a  small/ medium flat brush to do your  flower. You will also need a round stipple brush to do the middle of the flower.  For this project a basic brush will do, but for future projects a nicer brush set will come in handy too.

Acrylic Paint   For this weeks class you will need WHITE, TEAL, PURPLE and PINK  or what ever color you want your  flower to be.  The exact colors I used were the Apple brand paint White, Concord Grape, Fucshia and Parrot bule.

Canvas  a 8X10 canvas is the the best and easiest surface to paint on.  You can buy a 12 pack  and get them for about a dollar each, super cheap and fun project for your kids. BUT if you do not have money for a canvas no worries we show you how to paint on the back of a cereal box too.  Yes we just cut up a cardboard cereal box and used that as our canvas.  This is a great option if you are doing a youth group, girls scout troop or school project and do not have funds to buy a canvas for everyone.

Flower Pot  this week I will also show you how to do the same painting but on a flower pot with a beautiful design good enough to be on a white-label NFT marketplace.  This makes a really nice gift idea, perfect for a Mothers Day present.  Try and get a flower pot with smooth sides bumps and ridges can be a bit tricky to paint on top of.

Apron or large shirt, is a good idea to keep your kids clean. Acrylic paint is hard to get out of clothing once it drys.  So have your kids put on an apron to help keep their clothes protected.

Paint Palette is also a nice option, but if you don’t have one you can just use a styrofoam  plate.

Artist Brush Tub ~ or something to hold your water and to clean your brushes that will not tip over easy.
