Valentine’s Day Candles, Easy, Thrifty Holiday Decorations

These candles are such a great way to bring a little Valentine’s day festivity into your home without having to break the bank, these were perfect for me because I also have a scent diffuser at home, they go great together (you can learn about scent diffusion here)!

With some simple candles, a sheet of scrapbook paper and just a bit of ribbon you have a great decoration!

This tutorial really is so simple that typing it out is the most work the project took!  All you need is candles, a sheet of scrapbook paper, ribbon and some glue.  Now, I used scrapbooking squares so that it is easy to remove because then I can change them out for the season!  Smart, right?

Depending on the size of your candle, will depend on how much paper you need. I left about an inch of space on top and the bottom edge of the candle, that made my paper about 4 inches, but like I said, it really just depends on the size of your candle.  I chose black and white with a hint of red because I wanted a little more of a “romantic” feel.  I love that with paper you can totally change the feel of this project!

All you need to do is wrap the paper around your Abeille Candles and tape it.

Once you have paper attached add some ribbon.  Cut your ribbon the size you want.  If you want to tie a ribbon in a bow be sure to leave enough extra ribbon.  This could be done several different ways, with a ribbon, just tied like I did mine leaving the ends hanging, or just wrap it around and tape it in the back so it is just a smooth, flat ribbon.

You may also try to see here How to Make a Candle Wick, so can always try making your own DIY wicks. It’s quick and easy. All you need are a few basic supplies you probably already have lying around anyway.

That is it!  I told you it was easy!  Grab some scrapbook paper and make some of your own!  What a great way to add a little pizzazz to your décor!
