The Holidays are right around the corner, which for my family becomes one of the busiest times of the year. It is a season filled with joy, giving and bring people together. But it can also be very stressful. Below are 5 Simple Holiday Gift Ideas that you can give to neighbors, teachers, coworkers, and friends. No need to stress out, put these gifts together with no stress and enjoy giving to those around you.
Did you know that On November 2 (this Sunday), there will be coupons in participating newspapers for Crisco and Pillsbury products that help you share the goodness this season and make every meal matter. For every Crisco and Pillsbury coupon redeemed, The J.M Smucker Company will donate the equivalent of three meals to Feeding America. Every $1 helps provide 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks (so $1=10 meals) . The J.M Smucker Company has committed to provide up to six million meals ($600,000 donation) to Feeding America and will make a minimum donation of 4.5 million meals (a $450,000 donation).
So you can give your family and friends Smuckers products and also feed American Families at the same time.
The week before Christmas we tend to get a lot of treats from family and friends. The problem is many of them go to waste because we can not eat them fast enough. A few years ago one of my friends gave me a box of cookie mix with a big bow tied around it, with cookie cutters attached. My girls and I had fun making the cookies on a quite afternoon on a snow-day when they were home from school. You can watch for sales, grab these Pillsbury cookies at a stock up price and have your Christmas gifts done before the holiday rush.
This next idea is great as a hostess gift if you are going to someones home for Thanksgiving dinner. Or just to spread a little cheer this fall. You can make this gift in under a minute! It’s really simple, all you need is Pillsbury Artisan Bread Mix, small bucket (I found mine at the dollar store), cloth napkin or fabric square, fake fall leaves and a bottle of jam or jelly. You can make your own, or just grab a bottle of Smuckers jam at your local store and put some fabric around the top and tie it down with twine. Put all the items into a the bucket and you have a beautiful gift.
If you have not tried Jif Whips yet, then you are missing out. They are amazing, smooth, creamy and the perfect dip. You can do a basket with fresh fruit and Jif Whips. You can find baskets at your local craft store or online. Or step outside of the box and look for fun creative containers at your local second hand store. Below is a picture of a fun wooden crate I found at our local second hand store for only two dollars. Fill it with your favorite fruit and you have an instant gift that is sure to make the person you are giving it to smile.
Another great gift idea is to bring a fresh baked meal to someone. My kids love this Pumpkin Spice French Toast Bake, it is fast easy and can even be made the night before and baked the next morning. As it bakes, it fills your home with the most amazing smell.
Pumpkin Spice French Toast Bake
What you need:
- 8 slices of french toast bread
- 1 cup Jif Whips Pumpkin Spice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 eggs whipped
- 1 stick melted butter
- 2 cups half and half
- 1/3 cup pecan halves
Heat oven to 350 degrees, coat mini loaf pan, loaf pan or 9X13 casserole dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
Take your bread and make 4 sandwiches with the Jif Whips. Then cut those sandwiches into 4 quarters. Set them aside. In a large mixing bowl whip together the melted butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, eggs, and half and half. Mix together with the bread well, let sit for 5-10 minutes while the bread soaks up most the liquid. Once it has set, spoon the mixture into prepared pan. Place pecan halves on top. Bake at 350, the mini loaf pan only needs 30-35 mins to bake, while the casserole dish will take 45-50 minutes.
You can also prepare the bread/egg mixture the night before for a quick and easy breakfast idea. Just pop it into the oven after it has soaked overnight. You might need to adjust cooking time since it will be cold from sitting in the refrigerator overnight.
