Run Fido Run is a nonprofit association organized in 2009 exclusively for charitable purposes. Run Fido Run conducts fundraising events to benefit local animal shelters and rescue organizations. Our mission is to support the prevention of cruelty to animals and promote awareness of animal issues, including homelessness, lack of shelter resources, and the need to spay and neuter pets.
We have presented two Run Fido Run doggie dash 5K events. Last year, through generous sponsorships, race fees, and raffle ticket sales, we were able to donate $4000 to animal welfare organizations in the Treasure Valley, including 2nd Chance Animal Shelter, McPaws Animal Shelter, Meridian Valley Humane Society, and the Idaho Black Bear Rescue.
The Third Annual Run Fido Run Doggie Dash will take place on September 8, 2012, at Eagle Island State Park. This is a great family or individual event where you get to run/walk with or without your dog to support needy animals. Before the race you can participate in the raffle for your chance to win lots of great prizes from local sponsors, visit with local animal organizations, and enjoy great music!
