. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Mark family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Patricia Vella de Fremeaux Fleur this is the 263rd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

The Mark family are neighbors to the Monday family. They live in the front of the house and share the same kitchen. Both families lost their homes to a landslide so the whole village came together to build the house for them. The Marks have four children but only two of them currently stay with them they can not afford to care for them.

The Marks share a kitchen with the Mondays since they live in the same house. They also use firewood to cook and I don’t know their schedules but both families get along fine. It was the Mondays that let us know that another family stay in the compound and will appreciate the help. The Marks are farmers, they also grow cassava which they eat and sell the surplus when possible. This is hard work with very little return. But it keeps them from starving.

The Marks were a wonderful family to meet and they very much appreciated the bag of Rice given to them. They thanked those who donated to them and prayed for continued blessings in their lives. We almost did not meet this family but I’m glad we did because we left them in a better state than we met them.
