. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Daniel family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Karen Irwin, Karen Hicks and Elicia Hammond this is the 266th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this wonderful family in a village outside Uyo, Nigeria. They were recommended by their village chief. The Isaiahs have three kids and they live in a two bedroom mud house. They have no plumbing or electricity as this village has not yet been connected to the national grid. To get water they have to walk for miles to fetch from a local stream or collect rain water during rainy season.

The Isaiahs built a nice little hut which they use as their kitchen. They use firewood to cook which means their pots are always black with soot but it saves them money to use firewood. The Isaiahs are farmers and they grow cassava. They feed the family from the proceeds gotten from their farm and it has not been a good farming season for them and this has affected their ability to even feed their kids.

We only met Mrs Isaiah and her daughter and grand daughter at home. Her granddaughter has bust got done with a bath and all powered dry. Mr Isaiah had gone to the farm. The Isaiahs were especially happy to meet us. Most families in Nigeria can not afford to even buy Rice in cups and they were happy to receive a full bag of it. Mrs Isaiah thanked those who donated the bag of Rice to her family and prayed that God will continue to bless them.
