There have been rumors for YEARS that Walgreens was going to do away with register rewards, and switch to a loyalty card. But like I said till now they have just all been rumors. I was sent a press release from Walgreens and I wanted to pass it along to you. I am sure there will be some bumps to work out as this new program gets started but looking forward to the new balance rewards program and see what it has to offer a couponer like myself.
I wanted to make sure that you and your readers were among the first to hear about Walgreens new Balance™ Rewards loyalty program launching next month. The Balance Rewards program makes finding the balance between happy and healthy easier than ever by rewarding you in simple ways for the choices you make every day.
The program is simple: just sign up and start saving. You will be able to instantly earn and redeem points for thousands of items in store and online and receive exclusive savings. Balance Rewards will include many of the best aspects of existing loyalty programs and have distinct features that competitors do not match, including:
• Members can earn points for making healthy choices, such as getting an immunization or participating in Walk with Walgreens (walk.walgreens.com).
• A lenient, customer-friendly expiration policy – points will not expire as long as members remain active by shopping at Walgreens at least once every six months and redeem their points within three years.
• Members may earn and redeem points for both in store and online purchases.
• Exclusive benefits for AARP members.
And if you enjoy our current Register Rewards program, you’ll be able to use those in conjunction with the Balance Rewards program for the foreseeable future.
From September 2 – 15th, you can join online at http://Walgreens.com/Balance. Beginning September 16th, customers can also enroll at any of the more than 7,900 Walgreens drugstores across the country and start enjoying all the benefits of Balance Rewards.
