CHICKEN PROJECT 1136-1155 QUEEN ESTHER’S ORPHANAGE HOME.

Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our Chicken Orphanage Project or our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Project . In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We also met a young man named Isaac, smart and hard working but could not find employment. After talking a bit we found he had built a chicken coop and wanted to farm chickens. We asked him if he would raise chickens for us that would then be donated to feed children in local orphanages. The only food or supplies they get are what are donated, so they often go without any source of protein. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice or chickens. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here. Chickens are only available to purchase as once they are big enough to butcher, so if you see they are out of stock he is in the process or growing another flock.

The following story talks about our visitation to QUEEN ESTHER’S ORPHANAGE HOME. chickens were donated, thanks to an anonymous donor We donated Twenty (20) chickens. Thanks to generous donations.

As we stepped into Queen Esther’s Orphanage Home, located at Fox Road in Aba, Abia state, Nigeria, we were warmly received by the children and caregivers. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and gratitude as we announced the donation of 20 Broiler chickens to enrich their meals. The children’s eyes widened with delight as they helped unpack the chickens and settle them into their new home. there caregivers said they spent little time learning about the importance of protein in their diet and how chickens would provide a valuable source of nutrition.

The children of Queen Esther’s Orphanage Home were vibrant and curious, eager to learn and explore. They asked thoughtful questions about the chickens and enthusiastically helped with the feeding and care instructions from the previous once and have been asking when we will come again before now, and as they saw us, they were very much happy.  The caregivers expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the donation, explaining how the previous chickens meat would/have significantly enhance the children’s meals. I was moved by the sense of community and love that permeated the orphanage, and I knew that the chickens would be cherished and well cared for.

As we prepared to leave, the children thanked us with big smiles and asked to have a mini prayers with us as shown in the photo above, proudly showing off their new feathered friends. I felt a deep sense of fulfillment knowing that the donation would make a tangible difference in their lives. The experience left me with a renewed appreciation for the power of kindness and the impact that small gestures can have on the lives of others. The memory of the children’s joyful faces and the clucking of the chickens stayed with me long after we left Queen Esther’s Orphanage Home, a reminder of the love and joy that can be shared in the simplest of ways.
