Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our Chicken Orphanage Project or our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Project . In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We also met a young man named Isaac, smart and hard working but could not find employment. After talking a bit we found he had built a chicken coop and wanted to farm chickens. We asked him if he would raise chickens for us that would then be donated to feed children in local orphanages. The only food or supplies they get are what are donated, so they often go without any source of protein. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice or chickens. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here. Chickens are only available to purchase as once they are big enough to butcher, so if you see they are out of stock he is in the process or growing another flock.

The following story talks about our visitation to NWAMAKA’S ORPHANAGE HOME, chickens were donated, thanks to Christin Green, Brenna Hedstrom, Elaine Ausby, Melissa Silver, Teresa Light, Beth Phillips, Heather Marshall, Karen IRWIN And Jennifer Elsaid. We donated Twenty (20) chickens. Thanks to generous donations.

This shows our arrival to the orphanage home and on getting to the area the place was so packed that we couldn’t find park for our car so the guy in the picture caring the Chicken on his head was one of the guys controlling traffic. So he showed us were to park our car and he helped to carry the chicken to the orphanage home which at the end he was been appreciated for the help rendered.

The kids sleeping and one doing assignment

This was when we got into there house, the two were sleeping because they were very tired after school while this other one was trying to see that she do the assignment given to her from the school, they all are very smart kids and very Good kids. Happy to see or being with them again this day because each time we come or visit the less privilege, it gives me joy as I know e can offer them help, as I try to recall the words in one of the HYMNS Titled ”Have I Done Any Good”? and in one line of it says

Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped any one in need? Have I cheered up the sad and made some-one feel glad? if not, I have failed in-deed. Has any one’s burden been lighter today because I was willing to share? Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way? When they needed my help was I there? Then wake up and do some-thing more than dream of your mansion above. Doing good is a pleasure, A joy beyond measure, A blessing of duty and love.

So when I remember this am very happy if not for any other thing, it’s a pleasure being among this great Charity organization to put a smile on someone’s face, these children who have no mother or father. Knowing that at least I have done something good and the haven rejoice over it and the blessings is sure from above.

This are the other kids we got into our photo as others are sleeping while some were taking there bath, they were very happy seeing the chickens while the little once were crying because they are afraid of the chicken but not afraid to eat when being killed and cooked smiles, they are nice children, they said a very big thanks to you all for your love towards them that the lord will bless you all in 100 fold and Amen to that.

This are the children with the chicken in there front, there Mother or rather the woman taking care of them were very happy each time they see us or we coming around to visit the kids with one thing or the other and they keep on thanking us and also the Charity organization, so this time she sent her regards to you all even though she can’t see you all to start thanking you one after the other that God will bless you all.
