The drama is set in 1942, the beginning of the German occupation of Paris. As they gather up all of the jewish citizens, Sarah hides her little brother in a secret closet and locks him in with her key. Swept away by the germans, Sarah desperately finds a way to return to help her hidden younger brother. During the movie it fast forwards to current Paris, where a family is about to move into Sarah’s old home as they search for Sarah and her family in her old age to return a photo of Sarah and her brother that they found.
