Thanks to Lana  for todays tip

Just wanted to pass along a fun thrifty Halloween idea. These are a big hit and a certain favorite every year!
You will need a couple of things, but most can be found around your house or purchased super cheap.

1027a
1. Empty soup can
2. Black permanent marker
3. Orange spray paint or orange craft paint
4. Yellow craft paint
5. Old toothbrush or sponge
6. White craft paint or white permanent marker
7. Sponge craft paint brush (optional)
8. Green felt, green cellophane, clear cellophane
9. Candy (optional)

Take the label off the soup can and clean and dry it out. Spray paint the can orange or you can use orange craft paint and a sponge brush to paint the outside of the can.
After the paint has dried, use your yellow craft paint to fleck yellow paint over the orange paint, or you can use a sponge and just kind of dab on the yellow paint.
This gives it a more textured look. After all of the paint has dried, use the black and white markers to decorate your pumpkin can. This can be super fun and really where you
can use your imagination and creativity. Kids love it!1027

To top it off, stuff some green felt (just the cheap sheets of felt that can be found almost anywhere) into the can for it’s stem. Instead of the felt you can stuff green cellophane in the can
for a fun effect.
Another option is to use these as little gifts or favors. You can put little candies or treats in the green cellophane (or even clear cellophane) and put into the can leaving
the cellophane hanging out the top.
What a fun surprise to hand out to neighbors, teachers and friends!
After the candy is gone, this is a great little decoration, unbreakable and fun to set around the house!
Happy Halloween!
