QUICK TIP ~ Turn a milk jug into the perfect watering jug for your garden or flowers.
I have several pots of flowers in the front of my house. My kids like to help me water then, but we tend to run into a few issues. They drench the flowers in too much water, or don’t give them enough. They need some way to know how much water to give each pot. They also tend to break some of the stems due to much water to fast. So I needed to have it be a nice even shower not a huge DUMP of water all at once.
To fix these issues I came up with a homemade watering can. I re-purposed a milk jug into the perfect watering jug for my kids. I used my metal tipped comb to poke holes in the lid of the milk jug. You could also use an ice pick. The plastic is really soft and easy to poke holes in.
Next grab a sharpie marker and draw lines on the side. How far apart will depend on how much water you want each one of your plants to get. They will be able to see the water level through the plastic jug.
