Last week I was organizing my pantry and found a box of Wanchai Ferry Orange Chicken pushed way in the back. To be honest I don’t even remember buying it. It most likely came from a General Mills Promo at Albertsons. So I looked at the use by date and I saw that it said best buy Sept 2011…. well I might as well use it before it expired. Cooking from a box in not my first choice and cooking from an “old” box had me a little worried that it may have an “old, I’ve been in a box taste”.
All I needed was Chicken, splash of oil and water everything else came in the box. The recipe was simple and fast and looked pretty once cooked … but the real question was how did it taste? I was surprised and happy that it was rather tasty, the kids liked it as well. Any meal that appeals to kids and adults is a keeper in my house! We ate it with fresh Sweet Corn as well.
Have you tried these before, does your family enjoy them? I am going to keep my eye out for another promo, I would like to add few to my pantry for a quick meal idea.
