I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.
I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.
I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.
At Walmart they have Hefty One Zip quart storage bags priced at $1.00, if you pair that up with the $1.00 off coupon from the 5/17 red plum they are FREE!
I tried this deal in SoCal, w/ the blinkie coupons from Albertsons. My regular WalMart said they didn’t take blinkie coupons???
It’s a MC how can they not take it? Does Super WalMart have a different policy? I need some free ziplocs!
So is there any way to get a Red Plum coupon after the fact? I am new to this addiction and want to start saving. Do I just print out what I might use from RP and wait for it to go on sale ’cause then it’s gone?
Our local grocery store blinkie machine spits out “Save $1.00 on any Hefty item.” I’ve been saving these and taking them to Wal-mart for the 1.00 bags there. I’ve got a huge stockpile.
I bought a bunch of these a few weeks ago. I didn’t have any more coupons (used them to double and get free ones at albies) but I thought $1 a box was still a pretty good price, especially since I was out of the quart size.
where do i get the coupon fot the hefty bags at
Keri It is manufacturer coupon so they should take it….it frustrates me when they are so difficult

This is probably a dumb question but I am new to this! When you say the 5/17 red plum and 6/21 smart source etc, what is that?
Are those sites on line or coupons someone sends you? Any chance of a brief explanation?
Thanks and great site, keep up the good work!
