About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 9 years to my best friend. I am head over heals in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Before sales or coupons this would have cost $31.00

I was able to get it for 2.97 cents

IMG_1513I told you all last week that my store had coupons for free meat when you bought kraft products. To read that post click here I was able to get $10 worth of meat free with the coupons. Plus I was able to  use .50 cents off coupons on the kraft bbq sauce with doubles it made it an even better deal.  As far as I know the store no longer has these coupons. But check your stores for them.

Update*** to answer all the questions about this deal.  I posted this last night , my family is sick and I am having a hard time being everywhere I need to be and getting the blog done too.  When I bought these yesterday the cashiers machine jammed up so I did not get a receipt.  I was trying to remember what things went with each transaction….but once again I was taking care of a sick family and trying to blog at the same time.  Yes the meat coupon was for salad dressing as well….I bought it but forgot it was part of this deal so it was not in the photo.  I got it free with $1.50 off coupons so for every 1 salad dressing I bought and 2 BBQ sauce I got $2.00 in free meat.  Hope that clears up any questions.

  • Haven’t been shopping this week though found those coupons at stadium store.

  • My coupon says you must buy one salad dressing and two other participating products (dressing, BBQ, etc). I did this yesterday and got three dressings for free, plus some pork shoulder for 34 cents! Did you have different wording on your coupon to buy only BBQ sauce?

  • I love your Site! I live in Washington and have found a $2 off meat coupon when you purchase a Kraft Salad Dressing and 2 other kraft products. I also have a couple of the produce coupons as well. My qusetion to you is how can I use these… I would like to do the BBQ transaction you did however the coupon does state I need to buy the Salad Dressing. Also can I use both the meat and Produce coupon? Thanks for all you do!

  • The Albertsons on Fairview/Meridian had these on the farthest left isle of promo products they had set out..there is a tear pad not attached to anything-just floating there-so look for it. I saw it this afternoon.

I almost bought this bbq sauce, but the first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup so I had to pass, even if it was free.

The Albertsons at Cole/Fairview has the $2 in free meat when you buy 2 Kraft products in a box of coupons at the customer service desk. This was 2 days ago, but they may still be there.
