About Us I am a stay at home mom with three wonderful kids. I have been married for over 8 years to my best friend. I am head over heals in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together. I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet. I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

If you are new to my site, I know you are wondering how I feed my family on the items I purchased for the week.  Well I do not shop like a “Normal” person I stock up on the times that are at their lowest price point for the week.  I bring them home and add them to my Pantry which is full of items  that I use to make my families menu.  My freezer is stocked with meat, so between the pantry and the freezer I do not really “NEED” to buy anything.  Which allows me to only purchase things at a price that I am happy to pay.  Of coarse I have to buy my perishable items every week, like milk eggs and veggies.

  • HOW DO YOU GET THE COUPONS FOR MONEY OFF OF MEAT AT ALBERTSONS? I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR SOME OF YOUR WONDERFUL MONEY SAVING TIPS. YOU CAN E-MAIL ME OR JUST ANSWER HERE.
    YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION!!

  • I LOVE it!!
Where do you find good deals on dish soap? That is one thing that I have a hard time finding a thrifty deal on!

    hi,
I’m sort of new to the coupon thing. I live in Mesa AZ, and I went to Albertson’s last week to get all the good stuff you have shown but none of the products you mentioned were on sale here. Is it a regional thing maybe? Also, what do you mean when you say you get double coupons with your Sunday paper for Albertson’s?
    Thanks,
    Melina

  • Melina, yes Arizona seems to had a different ad than the upper northwest states….the double coupons come right on the ad in the sunday or wenesday paper

  • Jinjue I tend to get it at Wlagreens …they have it on sale for less than $1 most the time I use it as a filler item when I need to get my coupon – item ratio right at walgreens

  • Keelee they store manager had them…others stores say they have them back at the meat counter

  • Wow. You did awesome! I wish we had an Albertsons around here. We don’t have a Kroger or Mejeir (sp?) here either. I usually only save around 50%. Between the sales just not being as good, and the coupons around here being different (different as in not good), I just haven’t been able to save that much yet. I am soooo jealous!!
