About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 9 years to my best friend. I am head over heals in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Thrifty deal on EPT Test

ept

Thanks to Alli for passing this along

  • While getting our deals at Walgreens, we happened upon a really thrifty find. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, and pregnancy tests are normally really expensive. We found EPT single tests on sale for $3.59 (normally they’re more than $10.) There were also peelies for $1 off, making them $2.59 each!!

  • Kristie found a deal similar to this at her  local Walgreens. A pack of 2 EPT tests were on clearance for $3.79 and she had a coupon for $4.00 off. It was a moneymaker!

You can print a $3  coupon from here: IE or Firefox.

Save $5 off any e.p.t. product printable IE or Firefox or Safari ( thanks Sarah and Natalie)

I have to agree that is a a great price for a pregnancy test, I tend to get mine at the dollar store because I can’t stand to pay that much!  They have always  worked great for me, not near as nice as the EPT test but they do work.

anyone know what stores you’re finding the deals at? I went to the one on Greenhurst and they didn’t have them for that price.

I used a dollar store one when I wasn’t prego and it still gave me the positive line. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’d take one when your sure your not just to test them. (I do count ANY line as a line though, so it’s probably user error.) :) I saw a site online that sells dip sticks like the doctors use for Awsome prices–like 20 for $7 with $2 shipping http://www.babycreation.com I saw it on a couponing blog (I can’t find which one–it wasn’t one I usually visit) She said she used them and they worked like five days early for her. I thought it would be a good deal to go in on with a friend or sister. They also had ovulation tests for supper cheap. or bigger packs if you take way to many tests like I do (I’m happily married but have no patience and take one like the day before I start every month.) Anyway TMI, sorry.
