When I was little I was addicted to sugar…but now that I am an adult I am more excited about a good salad, than dessert.  But this recipe is one of those that still makes me want to eat the whole pan, I LOVE them!

035Start out by smashing one package of graham crackers ( not the whole box just one of the clear packages inside).

020Once you get the crackers all smashed up, put in the bottom of a 9X13 pan pour one stick of melted butter on top.

021Take a fork and make sure the cracker crumbs are well coated with butter.

022

Then press down in a flat even layer in the bottom of the pan.

Place in an oven at 350 degrees for 12 min this will create a crust.

031

While still hot out of the oven pour one can of sweet and condensed milk ( not evaporated).

Pour in a thin even layer over the whole crust.

033

Top with what ever you like, I use about 1/2 a cup of the following

  • chocolate chips
  • peanut butter chips
  • nuts or ( i use sunflower seeds, my friend who had a daughter allergic to nuts made it this way and I LOVE it so, I have never switched back)
  • coconut
  • M&Ms candys

034

While still hot place back in a 350 degree oven and bake for another 25-35 mins till edges are golden brown.  Let cool at least 30 mins…..and enjoy

036This is what Matt and I did to the pan in ONE night……I am telling you this is one of my favorites!  Hope you enjoy them too.

I just had to try these and they are delicious! I used heath toffee bits, mini chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts for my toppings. They taste just like I imagined them. Thanks for sharing this easy recipe! I did find them hard to get out of the pan...any suggestions on that?

I love scraping the thick sweetened condense milk off the lid. I used to put an open can in the fridge, and when the top skin formed, dip my finger in it. Repeat, repeat, repeat over the week, and suddenly the can was empty except for the sides to be scraped clean. Haven't done that in years.

Those look really good. They remind me of the magic cookies my mom used to make when I was a kid. I got to get her to make those again this Christmas.

We love these layer bars too! And you can mix them up with different flavors of chocolate, butterscotch pbutter, or white chocolate chips... and my recipe calls for another can of sc milk over the top layer before baking. Super Yummy! I hadn't seen this version, thanks for sharing.

Opps I forgot to add that you should butter the bottom of the pan or, you can also put parchment down
