Easy Lion Puppet – Low Cost Craft For Kids
These can be made into a treat bag or Puppet!
Last week we got a package from #DisneyKids to create a preschool party for my little ones and their friends. You can watch my kids “un-box” the whole package here if you missed it. It was filled will all kinds of fun treasures, but my son was most drawn to the Lion Pride posters, so we decided to have a Lion Guard party!
What you will need to make these:
- Tulip’s Puffy Paint
- Aleene’s Tacky Glue
- Sharpie pen, black or dark brown
- Wiggly Eyes
- Orange Cupcake Liners
- Yellow Mini Cupcake Liners
- White Paper Bags
- Scissors
First flatten your cupcake liners, take the tacky glue and glue the smaller yellow one into the middle of the larger orange wrapper. Let your kids snip the edges of the liners, cutting inward to make the lions mane. Once they have cut all the way around, glue it to the white bag. If you want to use it as a treat bag, glue it to the bottom half of the bag. But if you want it to be a puppet then you need to put it on the bottom flap of the bag. This is the flap that if opened would be the bottom of the bag.
Next put two small dots of glue on and glue on the eyes, next draw a triangle for the nose, a mouth, and small ears. If you want to make the bag have a little sparkle you can use Tulip’s glitter paint to draw some swirls or add glitter to the lions mane. Please allow time for this to dry before your child plays with it. These are perfect for a lion themed party, or if preschoolers are learning about animals or the letter L in school.
