Butterscotch Sweet Rolls

  • 1 c. nuts and 1/2 c. coconut ~ mix and spread in buttered bundt pan
  • Place 24 Rhodes dinner rolls on top of above mixture.
  • Mix & drizzle on top of rolls:
  • 1 small box “cook” Butterscotch Pudding powder (Not Instant! ! !)
  • 1 cube melted butter – (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • chopped pecans (optional)

~Cover with plastic and let stand overnight to raise.
Bake @ 350 degrees for 20-30 mins.
Turn pan upside-down onto serving plate. Let set so gooey stuff will drip over rolls & it will also keep them warm until ready to serve.

Thanks to my friend Candy for this recipe, I have to say this may just be the best thing I have ever tasted!  I will be making this again!

MY family has been making this for 25+ years as well, slthough I do not have an exact recipe. I do know I pour 1/2 my pudding in well greased and floured pan) first than put the rolls in and add more pudding, broen sugar, raisins, pecans and butter. I so not cook or preheat/melt anything prior it just all goes in the pan and in the oven overnight. I think the key to getting your rolls cooked from the inside of the pan out is putting just the right amount in, which sometimes I get just right and sometimes i try to overcompensate for numbers and it means gooier buns which my family doesn't mind! Essiest holiday and anyday breakfast bread ever!

Im pretty sure a cube of melted butter is one stick of butter, which I think, is half a cup.

I made these but the outside rolls were well cooked but most of the inside rolls were still dough. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ditto on the cube of melted butter, is it a stick ??? sounds YUMM-O!! Was wondering if this would work with grands biscuits???hmmm, I know it wouldn't be light and airy, BUT I have like 12 tubes of grands and NEED some good ideas for them!!

I have made this for Thanksgiving morning and Christmas morning for 25 years. I just dip the frozen rolls each in melted butter and layer the butterscotch pudding powder and more brown sugar, and more rolls dipped in melted butter. I don't ad nuts, family allergy. I al so have never used coconut. I usually pour more melted butter over the top and let it raise. It's a great holiday morning treat.

It does sounds yummy. I too would like to know what a cube of butter is. Sounds like something my grandsons could get into for breakfast.

I have a few questions that maybe someone here can help me with. We don't have Rhodes rolls here in my grocery store -- are there any good substitutes that I can use? I'm alergic to coconut -- again, any other substitutes that I can add to the nuts to get some texture to the topping? Lastly, how much is a "cube" of melted butter? Thanks to all! :D

These are one of my favorite treats!! We don't even cook ours though. I use all the same ingredients just sprinkle on the top-let it sit overnight and then cook it for breakfast!! A real general conference treat!

OMG.... That sounds so darn yummy! I wonder if it would work with milk chocolate chips?
