Catalina Chicken over rice

img_0993If you have been following my blog you know I have gotten a lot of FREE Kraft Salad dressing the last month.  I am always looking for ways to turn my thrifty deals into meals for my family.  My good friend Joanne brought me dinner the week of my birthday and she brought me this yummy chicken over rice, it reminds me of sweet and sour chicken.  Here is the best part she made it with a bottle of Kraft Catalina salad dressing.

catalinakraftI asked if it would be ok to share with all my bloggy friends.  She laughed at me, because she knows I am a little obsessed with my blog.   This recipe is for a dutch oven, but you can also make it in your oven or even toss it in your crock pot.  Thanks Joanne for this Yummy meal!

1 c. brown sugar

1 c. Catalina dressing

½ c. mustard

I love cooking chicken in the oven (at 350 if I remember correctly) for an hour in Catalina dressing. (Italian or raspberry vinegrette is great too!)

I just tried this last night and it was a huge hit! I loved it! It's definitely going to be a regular in our house. I hope it's ok, but I added a link to this post from my personal diet blog. Thank you! http://zero2forty.blogspot.com

Great recipe! I will need to try this :) Here's another great recipe that I love. I couldn't find any Russian Dressing, but I'm sure Kraft makes some. This will also go good with the dole coupons for crushed pineapple. These are "supposed" to be an appetizer, but we eat it over rice as a main dish. 1/3 to 1/2 bag of Costco meatballs (or homemade) 1 onion soup mix 8 oz. Russian salad dressing 8 oz. can crushed pineapple (opt.) (not optional for me!) 15 oz. can jellied cranberries Dump all ingredients in crockpot. Cook on high for 2-3 hours or 4-5 hours on low, stirring occasionally. These are so easy, but so good.

I make a taco salad with Catalina. I put graded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, kidney beans and Doritos. It's a family favorite!

Sounds yummy, thanks! At our house we throw chicken in the crock pot then pour in a jar of Italian dressing and let it cook for several hours. It turns out great!

This sounds good. I'm glad for a recipe because I opened the Catalina flavor last weekend for salad and no one at our house really like it that much. Thanks Sarah!
