I was asked if I would like to review a box of Mrs. Prindable’s gourmet apples. I had never heard of this company before so I did not know what to expect… but I love Caramel Apples so I was up for the challenge. In just 2 short days the UPS man dropped off a package. I opened it up to find an elegant package, but the real treat was still waiting inside.
Inside, carefully wrapped was 8 Gourmet Apples. My four year old daughters exact words were
“Oh Mommy, vese (these) look so yummy. … I don’t know which one to try”
I was sent the Nutcracker Suite Petite Apple Set of 8, so not only did I get to 8 beautiful apples, but each one comes with its own Nutcracker Christmas ornament. How cute are these!
They attache easily to the stick on the apple with a clear tube on the back.
So the real question come down to how they tasted. The apples were tart, crisp and delicious … but then offset by the gourmet Chocolates, Nuts, Toffee and Caramel. My favorite so far has been the Milk Chocolate Toffee Walnut Caramel Apple. When I tasted this one, I have to admit part of me wanted to hide it for later so I didn’t have to share. So tasty!
Now it comes down to price. As you now I am “A Thrifty Mom” and not a big spender. The box I was shipped sells for $89.95… yes that is a bit pricey in my book. BUT the fact that you get a nice keepsake ornament and a gourmet caramel apple means you could have 8 very nice gifts for $11.24 each (about what you are going to pay for a large soda and popcorn at the movie… and I would much rather have these any day). Yes not something I could afford to purchase every month.. but for a special occasion (or a special sweet tooth) I would love to have these again. I am not a flowers and box of chocolate kind of girl… but just found out I am a Mrs. Prindable’s Gourmet Apples, kind of girl.
