. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Dominic family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Sandra Pace this is the 341st bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this family in a village called Uruan. We had only one bag left at this stage and decided to give it to the first family we met. So we met a woman and her neighbors and on speaking with them we discovered that one of her neighbors was deaf and dumb and he stayed alone, his name is Etim. The young man in the hoodie is deaf and dumb.

We could see that both families needed help, but only had one bag left. We grouped them as a family and gave the neighbors the last bag of Rice to share, each getting half the bag. The Dominic family live in a mud house with corridors that led to few rooms. Despite the condition of the roof top their environment is very neat and clean.

The Dominics cook in a semi open kitchen made of palm fonds and zinc. Her and her neighbors cook in the same place and that’s why there is two tripod stands using firewood. Mrs Dominic is a farmer and she sells her farm produce at the local market to make ends meet.

This family was very surprised with our visit and they were not expecting the gift of the bag of Rice at all. They were so happy and were grateful for the gift. They appreciate and thanked those who donated the bag of rice and prayed that God will continually reward them. We could see the joy and surprise in the young man who is deaf and dumb, no communication was needed to see his gratitude. We left them with so much happiness in our hearts.
