. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Peter family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Becky Wright this is the 216th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We visited this next family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Peters have 7 kids and they live in a one bedroom mud house that has no plumbing or electricity. There is no borehole in this village so people fetch water from streams or collect rain water.

The Peters cook in a semi open kitchen and they use firewood to cook. They also have a semi open bathroom at the back of their house. We only met Mrs Peter at home as Mr Peter and some of their kids were at their farm. This their main occupation and they are currently harvesting cassava which they will sell and then keep the excess to eat.

It was a delight visiting this family, it took us about 45 minutes to get to this village and it was worth it. The Peters were very happy to meet us and appreciated their bag of Rice. They expressed thanks to those who donated it to them, and prayed for God to watch over those who gave so generously . With the incoming recession in Nigeria and the fact that most families can not afford a full bag of Rice, a bag of Rice feels like Gold to them.
