. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Benson family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Thayn Family this is the 218th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We visited this next family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. Mrs Benson is a widow and she has 3 kids. They live in a one bedroom mud house that has no plumbing or electricity. There is no borehole in this village so people fetch water from streams or collect rain water.

The Bensons cook in a semi open kitchen made with sticks and palm fonds. They use firewood to cook because it is the cheapest they can afford. Mrs Benson since she lost her husband had to go into farming fulltime to find food for her family. She grows palm fruits and then sells them when they are matured. Their family has been managing and it has not been easy for them to survive.

We loved meeting this family. They were very welcoming to us. They were very grateful for their bag of Rice and expressed their thanks to those who donated to them. We loved Mrs Benson and her wonderful kids. We left them in better conditions than we met them.
