Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Udofia family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Linda Honsvick, Gwen Freeman and Mark & Coralee Dahl this is the 222nd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
We visited this next family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Udofias have 3 lovely kids. They live in a one room mud house. This house does not have plumbing or electricity. There is no borehole in this village so people fetch water from streams or collect rain water.

The Udofias cook in a semi open kitchen. They use firewood because it is the cheapest they can afford. Their kitchen is also the favorite place where their goat likes to stay in. Mr Udofia is a motor bike mechanic but work has been scarce for him recently as everyone is struggling and can not afford to hire work out. He just has a semi open shed on the highway in hopes that people will drive in. His wife is a trader and she sells palm kernel at the local market that is why she was not home when we visited.

We loved meeting this wonderful family. They were also happy to meet us. They received their bag of Rice with so much happiness and expressed their thanks to those who donated it to them. This family can not afford this bag of Rice and they were so happy that they were gifted it. Looking at the kids as we were leaving, I knew that this food will go a long way in helping this family.
