Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Udokoro family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Rebecca Ennas this is the 223rd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
We visited this next family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Udokoros have 2 lovely kids. They live in a one room mud house. This house does not have plumbing or electricity. There is no borehole in this village so people fetch water from streams or collect rain water. We had some problems taking a picture of their house because it was in a tight space.

The Udokoros live next door to the Akpans in story #221. They cook with firewood just outside their house. They don’t have money to build a kitchen so they just cook in the open. Mr Udokoro is a farmer and so is his wife. He just returned from farming at the time we came. He works really hard for his family but harvest have not really been great this year and it has been difficult for them to survive on just that.

We loved meeting this family. We did not meet Mrs Udokoro at home because she was still at the farm but Mr Udokoro was especially happy to meet us. He was very grateful for the bag of Rice and expressed his thanks to those who donated to his family. Especially in this Christmas season, a bag of Rice will go a long way to these families who will otherwise starve without it.
