. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Inyang family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to The Amy Freeman Family this is the 226th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We visited this next family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Inyangs have 7 kids. They live in a one bedroom mud house, this home is very small an not suitable for a large group . None of their kids stay with them at the moment and the Inyangs live with Mr Inyangs mother. They recently got evicted from their rented house and they are staying here until they can resolve their rent conditions. This house does not have plumbing or electricity and for their water, they fetch from a local stream or collect rain water.

The Inyangs cook in just in front of their house using firewood under a metal tripod. Currently Mr Inyang is unemployed and he was laid off from work due to Covid induced cutbacks. This job loss cost them their house and brought them back to living with his mom. They have turned to farming and survive off of what they can plant and harvest. His mother appreciates the help on the farm, as this is back breaking work. However her harvest is not prepared to support 2 extra people, so they have to work extra hard to make sure their harvest can sustain them.

It was a pleasure meeting this wonderful family and hearing their story. They have been through a lot and Mr Inyangs mother did not believe that we wanted to give them a bag of Rice. We had to keep reassuring her the bag was in fact for them to keep. They were very very happy with their Rice and expressed their sincere thanks to those who donated the bag of Rice to their family. This family has been praying for a miracle and Mr Inyang told me that this was an answer to their prayers. He knows God heard his earnest plea.
