. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Friday family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Cristine Codr, Rachel Perry Family and Troy Perry this is the 277th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Okon family in a village outside of Uyo, Nigeria. They were recommended to us by their village chief. The Okons live in a one bedroom mud house with no electricity or plumbing and to fetch water from a local stream or collect rain water. Mrs Okon was not at home when we visited because she went to the market.

The Okons cook just outside their home with firewood and some cement blocks that they can balance their pots on. This is the most they can afford. Mr Okon is unemployed at the moment so he turned to farming in order to provide food for his family. His wife sells what little fruits and vegetables they can spare at the local market and was not at home when we visited.

The Okon family were very happy to meet us and even happier when they saw what we brought for them. They were grateful for their bag of Rice and expressed their thanks for the bag of Rice donated to their family. We almost did not meet up with this family because Mr Okon was not at home when we first visited and I’m happy we did not miss this family.
