. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Nsikak family, their bag of rice was donated In Loving Memory of Sarah Mooreland this is the 233rd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Nsikak family in a village outisde of Uyo located in the southern part of Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Nsikaks have 4 kids and they live in a one room mudhouse with no plumbing or electricity. To get water they have fetch from the local stream.

The Nsikak family cook with firewood in a semi open kitchen. The kitchen is built with sticks and a combo of zinc and palm fonds. This family can only afford to use sticks to cook. We met their kids first then they went to get their parents. Mr Nsikak is a bricklayer and he wakes up everyday to look for houses being built so that he can offer his services. If that day is very good he could earn up to 4 dollars for his hard work. But many don’t pay him fair or he is unable to find anyone to hire him for the day, coming back empty handed. His wife takes care of the children and she is also a farmer, she grows cassava out of their backyard and they sell what they can and eat the rest.

This wonderful family welcomed us well into their home. We enjoyed their smiles and greetings and they were grateful for the gift we brought to their family. They prayed for those who donated to their families so that the Lord will replenish them. I was impressed by the faith this family had. Mr Nsikak kept saying that this was a miracle and an answer to their prayers and it stayed in my head as we were driving back and I kept praying that we keep being guided in meeting the right families as we continue this mission.
