. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Brownson family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Neal Webster this is the 236th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Browson family in a village outside of Uyo located in the southern part of Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. Mrs Brownson is a widower and she has 8 kids and they all live in a three bedroom mudhouse. This home is larger than most in the area but still small for their family, they don’t have plumbing or electricity. To get water they have to fetch from the local stream.

The Brownsons cook in a semi open kitchen. They use firewood to cook because it is the least they can afford. We were so happy to meet this family, I think they have seen us pass a couple of times so, they were very happy to see us. Mrs Brownson since the death of her husband, left the city and moved to the village with most of her kids so that they could start from the beginning. This is a harder life with lots of work. They are mainly farmers and everybody contributes to till and plant cassava that they can sell and/or eat.

The Brownsons were very happy with our visit, there was a day we drove past and all the kids were waving at us and when we were led to this family, it made me very happy. They were happy to receive their bag of Rice and Mrs Brownson kept thanking us and those who brought this Rice to them. I am very sure that their prayers will certainly be answered. Their smiles warmed my heart and we left their home happier than when we arrived.
