. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Udoh family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Heather Marshall this is the 265th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

The Sundays live in a village called Uruk unam located in the southern part of Nigeria. They were introduced to us by their village chief. The Sundays have one kid and they all live in a one bedroom mudhouse with no electricity or plumbing. To fetch water they have to walk for about 30 minutes to the nearest stream. We met only Mrs Sunday at home and she was happy to meet us.

The Sundays cook besides the wall of their neighbors wall because that place has a zinc roof. They use firewood because it is the cheapest that they can afford. Mr Sunday is a farmer and he was away at the farm working when we came. Mrs Sunday is unemployed and she used to be a tailor before she lost her shop because she couldn’t make the rent. The Sundays have found life difficult to survive especially in this economic downturn.

Mrs Sunday was very happy to see us. She apologized for her husbands absence. She was were very grateful with their bag of Rice and thanked those who donated it to their family. Farmers have been hit very hard this year and our visit was very appreciated. We left with smiles on our faces because we left them in better state than when we met them.
