. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Amos family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to William Leavittb this is the 280th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met Mrs Comfort Amos, a 70 year old widow, she appears to be a very easy going woman. Over the years, she has lived with her grandson Akpan whom she described as ” God sent”. Her Grandson provides food for the family through his commercial bike business popularly known as “Okada”. According to Akpan, he saved money from doing menial jobs for 2 years in order to buy his motorcycle, which he said has been the only means of survival.

Himself and his younger brother built their kitchen some years back where they use firewood for cooking. They buy firewood from nearby sellers because he is rarely at home to go look for firewood.

Their hearts were filled with joy when we gifted them a bag of rice, they told us it can last for more than 6 months if judiciously used. They prayed for the donors who have given freely to them and asked God to bless them exceedingly.
