. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Isaiah family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Ginny Shindelar this is the 284th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Led by a messenger, assigned to us by the village Chief, we came to the family of Mr Sabbath Isaiah and Mrs Rose Isaiah. The Isaiahs have four kids, but we only met their 11year old first daughter and the rest of the kids were still at school at the time of our arrival. Mr Sabbath Isaiah, still in his late 50s looked vibrant and tidy, sells timber as means of survival. His wife, on the other hand, who is in her early 50s depends on farming as her source of livelihood.

The Isaiahs live in a mud hut, it had metal rooftops and mud bricks, it was surrounded by plaintain farmlands which attracted cool breeze to stabilize the high density of the sun. It was a two bedroom apartment, the second room was used as a kitchen and the rest of the family slept in the other room. Looking at how they cooked it was the popular metal tripod stand and firewoods.

The Isaiahs were very lively and very happy to see us. It was raining a bit on this Sunday but, we had a great conversation with them and exchanged nice pleasantries. We introduced ourselves and and we gave them with the bag of rice which made them so happy, in return they thanked us and the donors for this super surprise knowing the difference this bag will make in the life and the blessing it will be.
