. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Sabbath family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Karia Lee, Chery Griffith and Brianne Tolman this is the 285th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

So we found smiling Mrs Regina Sabbath, a widow in her mid 60s, she was blessed with 9 children all grown up. Mrs Regina lived in Uruk Unam in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. Her only job was farming, Regina is a regular visitor to her farmland to ensure she and her young grandchildren had something to eat each day.

Watching the Sabbath’s home, it was a small hut with leaky rooftops though during the dry season, it’s fairer to live in, but during the rainy season it’s a poor sight to behold due to heavy rain drops affecting their home. Their home was surrounded by trees and plaintain farmland which invited cool breeze. Her kitchen was located at the back of her hut, it was an improvised space just to cook for the family, they also used the popular metal tripod stand and firewoods to make heat. Telling us how she found it difficult to feed her grandchildren, she also let us know her bones are becoming too weak for her farm work and it’s giving her so much worries.

We were so happy to see the Sabbaths and we were especially happy to meet Mrs Sabbaths grandkids. They were so grateful for their bag of Rice and expressed their thanks to those who donated the bag of Rice to, they were amazed and thanked us and the sponsors for getting them the present of the year, while also wishing us safe trip back to our various homes.
