. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Monday family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Marnie Leffler this is the 293rd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this wonderful family in Uruk unam village. The Mondays were introduced to us by their village chief. We were welcomed by Mrs. Joy, as her husband was not around when we arrived. The Mondays have three kids and from the way they interacted with us, we perceive that they are a happy family. Mrs. Joy is a tailor by training, she makes female clothing for natives at agreed sums, but she is currently out of business because the business is no longer lucrative.

Mr Monday is a bricklayer for hire and he was not home when we visited the family. He is the sole breadwinner for the family since his wife business went under and on days when he can’t find a job it is usually tough on the family. We visited them early in the morning and their kids were at home because they could not pay their school fees. Walking around the house, we discovered that they cook with a metal tripod stand which allows small firewood use. They fetch firewood from nearby bushes.

She and her children were happy to see us, they entertained us with water and stories about their town. When we gave them a bag of rice, they were full of smiles, praising God for what he has done for her family through these donations.
