Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Harry family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Kelly Brownlee this is the 294th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
Meet Mr. Harry, a 36 year old bricklayer and his wife, Mrs. Gift Harry. He has been married to his wife for nearly 6 years and the union is blessed with 2 children. As a bricklayer, he scouts for jobs at building construction sites. With the turn of events economically, the high cost of Cement and other building materials, coupled with the adverse effects of Covid-19, people rarely build houses these days. This situation makes jobs quite difficult to come by for Mr. Harry.

His wife, Gift, is a nursing mother, ever since she put to birth, she hasn’t been able to work in her farmland. She is into farming which she uses as a means of supporting his husband’s hustle. Their Kitchen is an open space where anyone can walk in and cook, they make use of firewood which they fetch from their farmland. The use of firewood is informed by its availability and affordability.

They were happy to see us, they offered to take us round the village to have a glance of some of their natural beauties nature has blessed them with. We also met Mrs Gift’s sister who stays with them. They were glad when we presented a bag of rice to them at no cost whatsoever. They thanked the donors for blessing them in such hard times as this.
