Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Frank family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Kami Webster this is the 301st bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
Meet Mr. Asiena Effiong Frank, a 35 year old single Dad. He is a farmer, a man renowned for his farming abilities. He lives in a one bedroom mud hut with his son. Despite his hardwork, he still find it difficult to feed himself and his only son because what he actually does is to work for people in their farms to be paid in return. Nowadays, he no longer get offers to work because a lot of people especially women have resorted to working in their farms by themselves. This situation has made life unbearably difficult for him coupled with the fact that he doesn’t have any other skill asides farming.
Just like every other household that uses firewood for cooking, Mr Asiena Effiong and son are not left out. Their kitchen is positioned in front of their room as rain disturbs them most times during this period of raining season.
Mr Asiena Effiong and son was at home when our team visited them and gave a bag of 50kg (110lb) rice courtesy of the donations. They thanked them from the depth of their hearts, asking God to protect and bless them.
