Bag of Rice Project #31 -A visit to Anyanele family

Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Campaign. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Anyanele family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Sutter Wells is the 31st bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this wonderful family and in the process met another strong woman. Mrs Sharon has 5 kids and according to her sometime last year her husband just disappeared and she has stuck with raising and taking care of them. This story touched me personally because why will someone leave his young family it made me tear up. They live in a rented uncompleted building and there rent money is up but Mrs Sharon has a business where she trades on soybean this does not take care of her bills completely but it helps.

We met only Mrs Sharon and her daughter at home. And we spoke with her offered her encouragements and then gave her the rice. She was very appreciative of our visit and our gift of the rice. I have met so many strong women taking care of their families and Mrs Sharon is one of them and every day I say a prayer that women like her will continue to receive strength to continue their awesome work.
