. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Udoh family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Linda Honsvick, Heidi Christensen and Paula Reichow this is the 312th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Meet Mrs. Mfon Silas Udoh, a 63 year old widow, according to her, she lost her husband 10 years ago, although she told us her husband was long out of job, some few years before he died.
She has been the one catering for the family through her farming business. She is a farmer and sells her harvest in market, she has been in the business for over 15 years. But with the astronomical rise in the price of things, sales rate has dropped drastically which is taking a ripple effect on the family.

In order to keep up with the demands of the market, she has drafted some of her children into the farming business, which has made some of them to drop from school. They live in a two bedroom mud house with zinc placed on top of palm fronds, in order to avoid leakage. Their Kitchen is an open space where anybody can stroll in and cook, they use kindling which they get from their farmland. The use of kindling is largely because of its accessibility and affordability.

They were glad to see us, they offered to take us round the town to have a look of a portion of their regular marvels nature has favored them with. They were happy when we presented a bag of rice to them at no expense at all. They said thanks to the givers for giving out this much to them in such tough situation as this.
