Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Campaign
. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Ese family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Shirley Taylor this is the 323rd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Meet Mr. Savior Ese and his wife Elizabeth, both are natives of Afaha village, Uran Local Government Area, Akwa ibom State, Nigeria. Over the past 10 years of their marriage, both have strongly been rooted in farm work. He explained that he had to draft his wife and eldest child into farming in order to improve productivity and make sure there is enough to provide a daily meal. He deals on Cassava and sometimes he cultivates Rice. He admitted that he makes profits from selling farm produce but stated that there is need for expansion in order for it to provide for their basic needs.

He lives in his own uncompleted building where some of the windows have not been fixed. We also discovered that there is yet to be electricity and plumbing. They cook outside with the popular tripod metal stand that utilizes kindling which they get from their farmlands.

They were exceedingly glad to see us in their home, they offered us water as a sign of hospitality and cheered us up for the many effort. When we presented a bag of rice to them, they were full of thanks and blessed the hands that have donated this much to them at no cost whatsoever.
