. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Udoh family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to an anonymous donor this is the 324th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Meet the Udoh’s, a 67 year old Fisherman, a native of Afaha Ikot Local Government Area, he has lived here since he was a youth. His wife, Victoria is a trader, she supports the family in her own little way with the proceeds from her business. Mr. Udoh explained that this fish farming business is one that requires a lot of capital. He lamented about the high cost of preparing for fishing and poor means of storage, which is made worse by the lack of electricity.

They live in a two bedroom mud apartment, where they reserved a portion as Kitchen. As most families in this village, they cook with a tripod metal stand that makes use of firewood which they fetch from their farmland.

They were very happy to see us, after hearing from their neighbors about the good tidings we brought along during our previous visits. They expressed profound gratitude to the providers of this bag of rice saying that it will go a long way to help assuage the effects of food scarcity.
