. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Nsemenke family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to an Anonymous Donor this is the 325th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We had visited this family before. They are the family in story 291. We were pleased to visit this family again and give them another bag of Rice. They should be able to use this extra bag of Rice and help out their family. Mr. Nsemeke Ime James and his wife, Love. They have been married for about 5 years now. Mr. James was into small scale business in the city before the economic downturn affected his business. He returned to the village with his wife where both has turned to full-time farmers. Their two children are out of school due to lack of funds, according to Mr Nsemeke, the younger one dropped out in order for the older one to continue but when the situation was not getting any better, both had to drop out completely. This bag of rice will help allow the children to go back to school.

The little produce from the farm is consumed by the family leaving nothing for them to sell so as to make money. Their house is a mud house with a zinc roofing, at the back of the house is an improvised kitchen. They fetch firewood from their farmland for cooking, it is always available because they go to the farm thrice weekly.

Mr. James and his family were very happy to receive us and the gift of a 50kg bag of rice. He thanked the donors for extending their arms of kindness to this part of the world and asked God to bless them exceedingly. This bag of rice will not only allow them to eat a daily meal, but also allow them to sell some of their produce to help them get back on their feet and maybe get their children back into school. It is an unexpected blessing for sure.
