. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Nnamoko family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Michelle Bruveleit this is the 345th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

A friend of mine told of me of some women who took some homeless kids and rented a house for them. He begged that we visit them and donate what we could. This boys had lived under a popular bridge in Uyo. We met the three women and they took us to where the boys lived now thanks for the kindness of these women. They are 8 boys living in a one bedroom house with only one mattress to share among them. The women have tried and gotten them clothes and some food but they are still managing as much as they can to survive. One of them was sick when we arrived and could not leave the bed. He had Malaria and was taking medications when we arrived.

They cook in a small room in the house using a kerosene stove, this room also doubles as a bedroom for some of the kids. All of these kids are orphans and usually beg for alms under the bridge before the women took them in. The eldest is now apprenticing with a car mechanic and the women said their plans were to eventually find a skill for all of them to try and help them have hope for the future.

My heart broke seeing this kids and their living conditions. They looked so happy amid their current situation and I was happy that we were able to help in any way we could. Mrs Nnamoko who is one of the women taking care of them was so happy to meet us. She was very happy and excited by our visit and prayed for us and the donors that God will bless and replenish all our efforts. Knowing this bag of rice will bring great relief for a time, allowing these boys a daily meal.
