Bag of Rice Project #346 -A visit to the Udo family

. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Udp family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Melinda Nelson this is the 346th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

The Udo family live at Ikot Oku. They live in a rented one bedroom building that’s yet to be completed. The front was nicely colored and clean with old scratched window blinds. Mrs Enobong Etim udo welcomed us to her lovely home and introduced us to her husband Mr Effiong Etim udo and her three handsome boys.

This family have lived their whole lives working hard to provide for their family’s needs. Mr Effiong Etim Udo is a book binder and Mrs Enobong sells vegetables at the local market. Mrs Enobong’s little farm is by the backyard of the building. The little space at the backyard is used for cooking some meals in the house hold. They use a little kerosene stove and they don’t have a kitchen so they cook at the back of the house.

The Udo family were happy and thrilled to see us. They were about going to their business places but we met them on their way out. They were not expecting us and were very thankful and appreciated the people who donated the bag of rice to them. This bag will go a long way to help ease their burdens on finding a daily deal.
