. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Koko family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Shirley Taylor this is the 355th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this wonderful family in a village called Ikot Oku outside Uyo, Akwa ibom state. They were recommended to us by their village chief. They live in a one bedroom rented apartment with other tenants in the other rooms. We met with Mr Grefory Etim who welcomed us very well and introduced us to his 2 daughters who gave us lovely smiles when we met them. His wife was not present at the time we visited as she went to the market.

Mr. koko and Mrs Ima are farmers, farming is hard daily labor with little reward. They struggle for the basic needs in life. Because they share the house with other tenants they just cook in an open space at the back of their house. The black bucket is used to heat up water for bathing as their kids went to school that day. It was wonderful meeting this family as they were cheerful and welcoming.

Mr Koko and his 2 Kids who were at home when we visited were excited to see us. They had watched as we visited some of their neighbors and were happy to receive a Bag of rice from us and to take pictures too. They thanked those who donated the Rice to their family and were grateful for this kind gesture towards their family.
