. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Gregory family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Shirley Taylor this is the 358th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this family in a village known as Ikot Oku. We were welcomed by one of the grandkids who later informed their grand mother of our arrival. They live in the family house that was built by late Mr. Gregory. Mrs Regina who was his wife lived with 6 of her grand children (3 boys and 3 girls). The parents of the kids were absent by the time we came. So she was the only person to receive us.

Mrs Regina was quite old so she didn’t do much of the work. She was assisted by her grandchildren and some neighbors. They didn’t really prepare meals that much and the parents of the kids are usually unavailable. Mrs Regina was just a farmer and she doesn’t really go to the farm so much because she wasn’t strong enough all the time.

The children had a little passage to keep farm tools and other equipments and also to receive visitors. It has not been smooth since the death of Mr Gregory, Mrs Regina was happy to receive this donation from us and we were glad to have visited them.
