. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Ndono family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Ann Hendrickson, Laura Johnson James and Nancy Aydelotte family this is the 364th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

The Ndono family are neighbors to the Udo family in our previous post. They were very happy to meet us pleaded with us to visit them too. The Ndonos live in a rented one bedroom apartment that does not have electricity or plumbing and to get water they have to fetch at a local stream about 30 minutes away. The Ndonos have 4 kids who were not at home when we visited them.

The Ndonos share a kitchen with the Udos. It is a simple wooden shed that is semi covered with tarp. They use firewood as it is the cheapest and most accessible means of fuel available to them. The Ndonos are farmers and primarily grow, eat and then sell the surplus of anything that is left over. Seeing with our own eyes their humble home and great need we decided to give them a bag of rice too.

The Ndonos were very nice to us and they were fun to be around. Even though we did not plan to visit them, I could still see the joy in their eyes when we came over to their side of the house. They were beyond excited to receive their bag of rice and so grateful to those who donated to their family and prayed to God to bless and replenish them.
